The Minisforum MS-S1 Max-P495 price is no longer a teaser. As listed on September 27, 2026, Minisforum’s US store sells the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 workstation for $7,399 in a single 192GB RAM + 2TB SSD configuration, with a struck-through “regular” price of $9,249 and an estimated shipping time of mid October. That confirms what the talk since IFA 2026 suggested: Minisforum is charging more than any other PRO 495 mini PC with a public price.

The rumor: “€7???” and the $7,000 talk

When Minisforum showed the MS-S1 Max-P495 at IFA 2026, it published no price. Its EU store ran a surprise-price teaser reading “€7???”, with the last three digits hidden. The press filled in the rest:

  • VideoCardz headlined a “€7000+ price”.
  • Technetbook wrote that the box costs “over $7,000”.
  • gagadget called it “a €7,000 bet against cloud AI” and converted that to roughly $7,600.

All three were readings of the same teaser, not a list price. We covered the launch specs and that teaser in our MS-S1 Max-P495 specs and release date piece.

What Minisforum’s store now lists for the MS-S1 Max-P495

On September 27, 2026, the US product page and its product data agree:

  • Configuration: AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, 192GB RAM, 2TB SSD. It is the only variant offered.
  • Price: $7,399.00, shown against a struck-through $9,249.
  • Status: “Add to cart” is live; “Estimated shipping time: Mid October”.

Two caveats. First, this is a store listing, and Minisforum changes prices and “compare at” figures often, so treat it as a snapshot. Second, we have not re-checked the EU store today; the only euro figure we can stand behind is the “€7???” teaser. We found no record of the P495 ever selling at the $9,249 “regular” price, so we do not treat the gap as a discount.

How it compares to other PRO 495 systems

Lenovo ThinkCentre X Ultra128GBfrom $3,699 / €3,100Announced, ships November 2026
HP ZBook Ultra G3a (laptop)192GB / 512GB$7,449Price revealed by HP, per VideoCardz
ACEMAGIC F9A PRO 495192GB / 8TB (reported)~$8,000 (Guru3D report)No price on ACEMAGIC’s store
GMKtec EVO-X5 Proup to 192GBnot publicGlobal launch Sept 28, 07:00 UTC, per NotebookCheck
Framework Desktop PRO 495192GBnot announcedNotebookCheck estimate: over $4,000

Read the table carefully. The Lenovo is a 128GB machine, so it is not a like-for-like comparison, though it shows what a large OEM charges for the same chip. The HP is a laptop, useful only as a price anchor: a mobile workstation with screen and battery lands $50 above Minisforum’s desktop box, with a quarter of the SSD. The ~$8,000 ACEMAGIC figure comes from a Guru3D headline we could not open (the site returned 403 to us), and ACEMAGIC’s own store lists no PRO 495 price, so treat it as a report. GMKtec and Framework have no prices at all.

So is it the priciest PRO 495 yet? Among mini PCs with a price you can actually pay today, yes. If the reported ACEMAGIC figure holds, Minisforum will not stay alone at the top for long.

What $7,399 buys over the 395 model

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 MS-S1 Max launched at $2,299 on pre-order and lists at $3,799 for 128GB/2TB on the same store today. The P495 costs roughly double that. What changes:

  • +64GB of memory (192GB vs 128GB), with up to 160GB assignable to the GPU instead of 96GB
  • LPDDR5X-8533 instead of 8000
  • About 4% more multi-core CPU performance, going by Minisforum’s own Cinebench R23 numbers
  • The Radeon 8065S instead of the 8060S, same 40 compute units

What does not change is everything else. The chassis carries over: 2x 10GbE, USB4 v2, a full-length PCIe x16 slot that is electrically x4, and the internal 320W PSU. Those were already in the $3,799 box. The extra $3,600 buys memory and a small clock bump, and the chip’s architecture is unchanged, as our Ryzen AI Max 400 “Gorgon Halo” explainer covers. Our Minisforum MS-S1 Max review details what that chassis gets right and wrong.

What’s still unknown

  • Independent performance. Every benchmark and tokens-per-second figure for the P495 comes from Minisforum.
  • Real ship dates. “Mid October” is Minisforum’s estimate, not a delivery date.
  • EU pricing. Not verified by us beyond the teaser.
  • Other configurations. Only 192GB/2TB is listed. No cheaper 128GB PRO 495 SKU and no larger SSD option.
  • Competitor pricing. GMKtec and Framework could reset the market within weeks.

Should you pre-order the MS-S1 Max-P495?

We do not recommend paying $7,399 before independent reviews. The premium over the 395 model buys 64GB of memory in a chassis you could already buy for about half the price, and the performance claims are all vendor numbers. Minisforum’s after-sales record matters more on a $7,399 order than on a $700 one; our support unresponsiveness pattern file is the context.

Alternatives to watch:

  • Lenovo ThinkCentre X Ultra from $3,699, if 128GB is enough for your models and you want OEM support.
  • GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro and the Framework Desktop PRO 495: wait for their 192GB prices before committing to Minisforum’s.

Sources and caveats

The $7,399 price, $9,249 compare-at figure, single 192GB/2TB variant, live “Add to cart” button and “Mid October” shipping estimate come from Minisforum’s US store page and its product data, checked on September 27, 2026. The 395 price ($3,799, 128GB/2TB) is from the same store on the same day. The pre-launch figures are from VideoCardz, Technetbook and gagadget. The HP price is VideoCardz’s report of HP’s own figure. The ACEMAGIC ~$8,000 figure is Guru3D’s report, unverified by us. Lenovo, GMKtec and Framework details come from our linked articles and their cited sources. Prices can change without notice.
